Golden hues and things that glitter

You’re never too old for a little sparkle. Up the glitter and glow with these current faves.

Eyeshadow - Glitter - Glow - Highlighter - Makeup

Despite my love of natural makeup, there is always room for a little sparkle. From a glowy base to full on glitter, these three products are currently on full rotation.  The Victoria Beckham X Estee Lauder Morning Aura is a dream product in every way except it’s price tag and limited edition status.  I know I’m one of many impatiently awaiting a full Victoria Beckham collection after the success of her two collaborations with Lauder.  Until then, Ebay seems to be the only option.  Morning Aura is billed as an illuminating primer but I have often used it in place of a moisturiser. It’s a lightweight cream that happens to be glowy in a natural, pearl tone.  So often these products have tiny specks of glitter at their base or are too golden hued to be natural, but this is a winner.  For alternatives check out Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Balm or Becca Backlight Priming Filter.

Speaking of Bobbi Brown, these Luxe Eyeshadow Rich Sparkles are a dream.  More intense than their standard pressed glitters, they blend beautifully across the lid adding a wondrous, finely milled shimmery glitter that is pretty beyond words.  For a goldy gleam you want Moonstone but I’m also currently loving Silver Heather for a silvery lilac hue.

Finally, some the best glitters in the biz have to be Stila’s Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow.  I hate them for their long name, but these glitters are doe-footed perfection.  They apply like a dream (no messy finger required, or specks falling down your cheeks), have great staying power and come in such wearable shades.  I love Smoky Storm for a slightly bronzed eye.  Wear them alone of over your shadow. This is glitter for adults.
